Wickham 1: Beyond Unknown
The next morning Val woke up bright and early for the new day. Due to the lack of chairs at home, she had to eat breakfast on her toilet – despite how unhygienic it is, especially when eating food.

Ever since Mel was still a kid, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut when she’s older. She loved learning about the universe and have always wanted to see the earth from outer space. Lucky for her, there’s actually a military base at Sunset Valley, she decided to try her luck with an interview. She was accepted immediately and was told to start her job within a week.

On her way home, Mel decided to drop by the park again. And guess who she saw playing chess alone, Agnes Crumplebottom. Everyone in town knows about her deceased husband and how she still lives with his ghost. Quite an odd person, that woman. To Mel’s surprise, she actually asked Mel to join her for a game. Mel, who never touched a chess board her whole life, was easily beaten by Agnes.

Embarrassed, she headed to the gym for some light workout. But to her displease, she was once again embarrassed after falling off the treadmill (epically) numerous times. It wasn’t fun getting laughed at, so Mel decided to head home for the day.

Couple days went by, Mel got to know more and more townies. It really is a diverse and peaceful town, she like the closely-knitted community. And what’s better? Everyone knows each other! It’s definitely not something you come across, ever, in a large city.
Before she knew it, a brand new week had started. Today is her first day of work as a Latrine Cleaner at the military base. After changing into her work uniform, she was picked up by the taxi promptly at 7AM. Even though it’s a dirty job she was still full of confidence that if she works hard enough, she will advance through the ranks in no time!

Exhausted, Mel left work at 2PM and decided to visit the beach for a nice and relaxing afternoon. A young lady was playing the guitar along the sidewalk, Mel stood and watched for a bit before moving on to pick some apples to fill her hunger.

She was at the beach until nightfall before she left. To her surprise, the guitar lady was still playing even then.

After working hard at her job for the next couple of weeks, she finally got promoted to a Mess Hall Server! To celebrate after work, she decided to visit the local pond and enjoy a round of fishing. Being a first time fisher, it took her awhile before grasping the basics.

It eventually got boring after awhile so Mel decided to call up Leighton and see if he’d like to join her. Of course, this was her sorry excuse to see him again. They have met on and off the last few weeks and their affection for each other was becoming seemingly obvious.

Leighton arrived within minutes from her call – this was another thing she liked about the small town, everyone is so close to each other! They fished together for a bit, then sat down for a heart-to-heart with each other. While talking about her life at the big city, it really surprised her when Leighton leaned forward and gave her a kiss.

It’s official, they are a couple now, and Mel couldn’t be happier!
